Course Content

Week 1-2: Introduction to Graphic Design
• What Graphic Design is and why we are here • Overview of graphic design principles and elements (line, shape, color, texture, typography, etc.) • Historical overview of graphic design • Introduction to design software (Adobe Photoshop and CorelDraw Graphics) • Understanding the creative process in graphic design

Week 3-4: Typography
• Fundamentals of typography (typefaces, fonts, type families, etc.) • Typography principles (alignment, hierarchy, spacing, legibility, etc.) • Hands-on exercises in typesetting and creating typographic compositions

Week 5-6: Color Theory and Application
• Basics of color theory (color wheel, color harmony, contrast, etc.) • Understanding color psychology and its application in design • Practical exercises in creating color schemes and applying color to design projects

Week 7-8: Layout and Composition
• Principles of layout and composition (balance, proximity, alignment, repetition, contrast, etc.) • Grid systems and their importance in design • Hands-on projects focusing on creating effective layouts for print and digital media

Week 9-10: Image Editing and Manipulation
• Introduction to image editing software (Adobe Photoshop) • Basic image editing techniques (cropping, resizing, retouching, etc.) • Understanding file formats and resolution

Week 11-12: Vector Graphics and Illustration
• Introduction to vector graphics software (Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw Graphics) • Basics of vector graphics and their advantages • Creating simple illustrations and logos using vector tools

Week 13-14: Branding and Identity Design
• Understanding branding principles • Logo design process and techniques • Developing brand identity elements (business cards, letterheads, etc.)

Week 15-16: Final Projects and Portfolio Development
